Get to know Miles "Tails" Prower!
Miles, AKA Tails, is one of Sonic's friends. He is mainly crafty, and is an engineer. His first appearance ever and in-game was in Sonic The Hedgehog 2. Where nothing like the movie, Tails gangs up with Sonic to fight against the evil Eggman(at the time called Dr. Robotnik). Knuckles was not yet created at the time this game was made. SEGA named Tails "Miles" because of the saying, "miles per hour", as a reference to Sonic's speed.
BACKSTORY
His first backstory showcased was in the first show he was in, The Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog. In the episode, Tails' New Home, in showed that Sonic found Tails thinking he was a bird. But Sonic put into his mind that he was actually a fox. But Sonic was surprised when Tails showed him he could fly.
After that the two became brothers. The next show that brought up Tails' backstory after that, was Sonic X. In the episode, The Dam Scam, Tails started getting upset at the animals, almost acting like the bullies that teased him, and he told Chris his origin. Tails was always a crafty fox, but the other creatures picked on him for the "extra tail".
Then he found the tornado, and when Sonic came back Tails was right there, fixing up the tornado; painting it, making it faster, and more. The next show they shown his backstory was in the latest show, Sonic Prime. I will bring up Nine's and Tails' backstory. "Tails was a brainy little fox, doing brainy little things. Then some jerks came along and picked on you for having an extra tail. But once we started hanging out, they lost interest in being jerks."
That was how Sonic told Tails' backstory to Nine. Now, to Nines backstory; the bullies picked on Nine, the same way as Tails. But Sonic wasn't there, so he was picked on for years. Later on, he hid down in the subway, and created not only one, but seven mechanical robo-tails.
IN-GAME APPEARANCES
His first game appearance was Sonic The Hedgehog 2. When Tails gangs up with Sonic to save the world from Dr. Robotnik.
Their are some other non platformer Sonic The Hedgehog games like Sega Sonic Popcorn Shop that Tails was in.
His next game appearance was Sonic The Hedgehog 3, which was the first Sonic game with a file select and save screen. At that screen, you can choose to have Sonic or/and Tails without going into settings only within a small amount of time. Just like Sonic The Hedgehog 2, he can help you get up to higher places with his fly ability.
Tails was to busy to be in Sonic and Knuckles, so Sonic was left on his own. But he came to congratulate Sonic in the credits as a cameo.
In Knuckles Chaotix, he and Sonic were also cameo's in the credits.
In Sonic JAM, Tails is a playable character.
Next up, Sonic Adventure, with different playable characters with a different stories. Even if its the same cutscene, different characters will remember it differently.
Sonic Adventure 2, the last Sonic game for a SEGA council. Tails can only be playable in the Hero Story and the 2P mode.
Later on they made Sonic Shuffle; kind of like a Super Mario Party rip off. Tails is playable in that game.
Sonic Advanced came out before Sonic Shuffle. Tails is playable right away without progression, along with other characters.
In Sonic Advance 2, you need progression to get any character other then Sonic. Tails, Cream, Knuckles, and Amy are playable in this game.
In Sonic Advanced 3, the first two characters playable is Sonic and Tails. Others can be unlocked with progression.
In Sonic The Hedgehog: The Dark Brotherhood, Tails is playable.

FRIENDS
Tails has lots of friends. Its hard to keep track of all them, from 1992 to now. These are Tails' friends from 1992-2023:
1992: Sonic was Tails' first friend.
1994: Knuckles is Sonic and Tails' frenemie.
1993: Sonic met Amy, and later on introduced her to Tails.
2003: Sonic and co. came to the human world and everyone befriend Chris.
2002: Sonic saved Cream and Cream has been friends with the others since.
2005: When a alien crash lands on their planet, they all help her with her task. Then later on Tails developed a crush on her.
2023: Tails befriends one of Eggman's robots.
2014: Tails meets a badger named Sticks.
2015: Tails meets a female fox and gets a crush on her.
